On SiriusXM’s Conversation with Cardinal Dolan this week, recorded during the Cardinal’s recent trip to Jerusalem with CNEWA, His Eminence spoke with Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa about the ongoing Israel-Hamas war and the decreasing number of Christians in the region. Many have left over the years to live in better conditions.

Cardinal Pizzaballa is the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem which means that he is the archbishop of Latin Church Catholics of the Archdiocese of Jerusalem with jurisdiction for all Latin Catholics in Israel, Palestine, Jordan.and Cyprus. He is a native of Italy and a member of the Order of Friars Minor (Franciscans).

Cardinal Dolan praised Cardinal Pizzaballa for his courageous willingness to offer himself in exchange for child hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza. And they highlighted the increasingly difficult pastoral, political, and economic situation on the ground.
