40 Days for Lifekicks off this year on Ash Wednesday.
This international life-saving prayer campaign consists of 40 days of prayer and fasting, peaceful vigil at abortion facilities and educational outreach with the goal of protecting mothers and their children from abortion.
A kick-off Rally took place on Saturday in White Plains, New York.Dozens of pro-life advocates stood in front of the Planned Parenthood offices here offering prayers and holding up signs to witness to the hundreds of people driving by. Alison Yeung, the Leader of the Vigil here says the 40 Days for Life initiative is saving lives.
Pope Leo was born September 14, 1955, and grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago.
