Bethlehem University, in the city where Christ was born, continues to serve the Bethlehem and Palestinian communities amidst the current crisis gripping the region.

It is the only Catholic university in the Holy Land. Established in 1973 as a joint project between the Vatican and the Christian Brothers, fulfilling the wish of Pope St. Paul VI who expressed his desire to have an education facility there to improve the situation of Palestinians.

The University’s Vice-Chancellor, Brother Hernan Santos, was the special guest speaker at the Bethlehem University Foundation’s spring reception held in New York City on April 11.
