At St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday, Cardinal Dolan celebrated a special Mass for peace and justice in Haiti.

In his homily on what is celebrated as “Good Shepherd Sunday” throughout the universal Church, Cardinal Dolan said a good shepherd never abandons his sheep, and said that we must not abandon Haiti in this time of crisis.

Archbishop Paul S. Coakley, president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, sent a letter to leaders of the Jewish community in the United States, expressing the Catholic Church’s prayerful solidarity with the Jewish community.
