A Word from Cardinal Dolan: Candidates and Catechumens

In his video today, Cardinal Dolan explains the difference between candidates and catechumens, who are starting the RCIA process this time of year.

Like the disciples in today’s Gospel, when we are afraid, Jesus is with us.

Born in New York City, he was ordained on June 22, 1991, by Cardinal John O’Connor, and appointed a bishop on January 25, 2022, by Pope Francis.

"Pope Leo has chosen well in appointing him to serve as the Bishop of Rochester," Cardinal Dolan said in a statement.
