NEW YORK — ArchCare, the Archdiocese of New York’s healthcare system that every day cares for thousands of adults, held its 11^th Annual Gala on October 24 at Gotham Hall, raising $1.7 million in support for its vital programs and services. The event, hosted by Rosanna Scotto of Good Day New York, gathered over 400 attendees, including prominent figures and community leaders, to celebrate ArchCare’s accomplishments and ongoing commitment to care.

Honorary Gala Chairman, His Eminence Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop of New York, addressed the crowd, emphasizing the importance of community support with a message centered around the theme “I show up.” He concluded his remarks with the sentiment: “I show up to thank all of you for showing up in support of ArchCare.”

The gala featured appearances by NFL Hall of Famer Jerome Bettis, who discussed his philanthropic work with the Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation in an interview with Rosanna Scotto. There was also a performance by John Lloyd Young, Tony and Grammy Award winner and the original “Frankie Vallie” in Broadway’s Jersey Boys.

Scott LaRue, CEO and president of ArchCare, highlighted the organization’s accomplishments over the past year, including the expansion of Mother Cabrini Hospital, remodeling the Huntington’s Disease unit at Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center, and the establishment of a new Thompson House short-term rehabilitation unit at Ferncliff Nursing Home. LaRue also noted the opening of autism housing at St. Frances Cabrini Apartments and the launch of the GUIDE program, ArchCare Dementia Care Connect, a care navigation program designed to provide support and resources for people living with dementia and their caregivers.

The funds raised will be allocated for future initiatives including the modernization of the short-term rehabilitation unit at Carmel Richmond Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, the development of a respiratory care unit at Terence Cardinal Cooke Health Care Center, and the expansion of the PACE center in the Bronx to serve an additional 200 individuals. This initiative aims to help seniors remain in their homes and out of nursing homes. The funds will also support the new terrace and garden project at Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home.
