New York, NY – Against the backdrop of ongoing turmoil in the Holy Land, the panel discussion “In the Midst of Hell, Not Hell” at this past weekend’s New York Encounter provided a compelling narrative of resilience, faith, and hope. Held on Sunday, February 16, in the Metropolitan Pavillion in Midtown Manhattan, the conversation was part of the “Here Begins a New Life” series and featured voices intimately connected to the realities of life in the region.

Moderated by Archbishop Gabriele Caccia, the Permanent Observer of the Holy See to the United Nations, the panel included Wafa Farid Musleh, President of the Holy Land Living Stones Association in Bethlehem; Fr. Ramzi Sidawi, Guardian at the Franciscan Monastery of the Holy Land in America; and Hosam Abu Sini, an oncologist at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa.

Together, they painted a vivid picture of the struggles and perseverance of those living in the Holy Land today.
