On Saturday, May 3, the Sisters of Life hosted a block party outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral, on John Cardinal O’Connor Way and 5th Avenue, celebrating the life and legacy of former Archbishop John Cardinal O’Connor.

The event marked the 25th anniversary of Cardinal O’Connor’s entrance into eternal life and featured informational booths, games and activities for children, and a live performance.

The Sisters of Life were founded by Cardinal O’Connor in 1991 and are a Roman Catholic community of women religious who profess the three traditional vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, and a fourth vow to protect and enhance the sacredness of human life. The Sisters of Life currently serve in the Archdioceses of New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Phoenix, Washington, D.C., Toronto, Canada, and the dioceses of Albany and Bridgeport.

El martes 31 de marzo, el arzobispo de Nueva York, Ronald A. Hicks, celebró la Misa Crismal en la Catedral de San Patricio, una liturgia profundamente significativa en la Semana Santa.
