The Catholic Church marked the Jubilee for Prisoners on December 14. On Thursday, The Good Newsroom visited Thrive for Life Prison Project’s Abraham House in the Bronx, where the living witness of mercy, dignity, and second chances comes to life for people in prison and for the formerly incarcerated.
Founded by Jesuit priest Father Zachariah Presutti, SJ, the ministry serves justice-impacted men and women through education, reentry support, and spiritual accompaniment. At Abraham House, men returning home after incarceration find housing, formation, and community. Through prayer, shared meals, education, and daily accompaniment, Thrive for Life helps individuals rebuild their lives and rediscover hope beyond prison walls.
Legislation would ban mifepristone, although its path forward in Congress remains uncertain.
