In his video today, Cardinal Dolan explains the tradition of the “Altar of Repose,” an altar where the Blessed Sacrament is placed at the end of the Mass of Lord’s Supper on Holy Thursday to remind us of Jesus going to the Garden of Gethsemane.
“Pope Leo XIV made clear: ‘Brothers and sisters, this is our God: Jesus, King of Peace, who rejects war, whom no one can use to justify war,'" the USCCB president said.
