Registration for the 2026 Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools (TACHS) opened Monday, August 24, at 9 a.m. Eastern time for students in the Archdiocese of New York seeking admission into a Catholic high school for the 2027-28 school year. Students currently in eighth grade during the 2026-2027 school year are eligible to apply.

How to register

Families have two options for registering. The preferred method is online at www.tachsinfo.com. Students may also register by phone at 1-866-61TACHS (1-866-618-2247), which is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Families are asked to register by only one method, as duplicate registrations will result in a processing fee.

Registration closes Wednesday, October 28, at 11 p.m. EDT. Before registering, families should review the system requirements and devices needed for testing.

Once registration is complete, students will receive an email with their test session date, time, and code. Sessions will be randomly assigned for either 8:30 a.m. or 10 a.m.; time preferences will not be accepted. Test session information will also be available at tachsinfo.com. No paper notifications will be sent.

Test date and content

The remote, online TACHS test for the Archdiocese of New York will be administered Friday, November 6, 2026. The exam measures school aptitude and scholastic achievement in reading, mathematics, and language.

Students requesting an extended time accommodation must email Carmen Leon at secondary.schools@adnyeducation.orgby Friday, October 2, 2026.

Fees and deadlines

The registration fee is $78 per student, payable by credit card, debit card, or prepaid card. Debit cards will be processed as credit transactions, at the discretion of each family’s bank.
