In a new series of four books called “Fathers of the Faith”, Catholic author Mike Aquilina shares the teachings of the early Church Fathers in a very accessible way. Aquilina focuses specifically on St. Irenaeus, St. Augustine, St. Athanasius, and St. John Chrysostom.
In an interview with Catholic Faith Network, he says these influential Church Fathers were the teachers of the faith in the first generations of the Church’s life. They spread the Gospel to the world and converted the Roman Empire.
He added that, “they did something remarkable, and they teach us how to do it in our own age.”
