The star of today’s Gospel is the Roman centurion. He is presented as someone who is compassionate to his servant and respectful to Jesus.
This reading is also a reminder that Jesus always sees our hearts.
He reminds us to not be inflated with pride. Everything we have is because God gave it to us. Our experience with life should be one of gratitude
