The doctrine of purgatory is a doctrine about God. It’s a reminder to us about the majesty and infinity of God. We need to pass through purification before seeing God.
There’s a beauty to this as we hear in the first reading today.
“My hope is that they bring that closer relation with God to their families,” said Father Manny Gallo .
