A Word from Cardinal Dolan: The Christmas Tree
| 12/26/2023
By: Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan
Cardinal Dolan discusses the symbolism of the Christmas tree. He reminds us not to take it down because we celebrate Christmas for 12 days, until the Epiphany.
He talks about how the tree represents the tree in the Garden of Eden and the tree of Calvary. Finally, the evergreen of the Christmas tree reminds us of spring. It’s a symbol for how the life of spring always conquers the death of winter.
"As all of us are impacted, so must we all be responsible for addressing this global challenge."
