Hundreds of people attended the New York Encounter this weekend for education, dialogue, and friendship.
The annual three-day public cultural event in the heart of New York City is organized by members of the Catholic movement Communion and Liberation.
This year’s theme was ‘Tearing Open the Sleeping Soul’. The speakers and participants reflected on the question: “What is happening to our humanity?”
The Pope’s ambassador to the United States, Cardinal Christophe Pierre, moderated the panel discussion on ‘Fratelli Tutti’,Pope Francis’s 2020 encyclical on fraternity through dialogue to create a more just and peaceful world.
