Catholic Sisters Week: Meet Sister Margaret Oettinger, OP

For Catholic Sisters Week, we are highlighting some of the amazing women religious in the Archdiocese of New York! Meet Sister Margaret Oettinger, O.P., a member of the Congregation of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, NY (Rockland County).

She was a missionary in Pakistan for several years.

Sr. Margaret has served as part of the Dominican Order Chaplaincy Team for many years and is currently a Chaplain at Hospital for Special Surgery here in Manhattan.

Sr. Margaret was born in Manhattan and, growing up, attended Catholic elementary school and St. Jean Baptiste High School, both in Manhattan.

The U.S. Supreme Court June 16 remanded to the New York Court of Appeals the case of Diocese of Albany v. Harris.
