Incarnated into the Archdiocese of New York in late 2001, Father Uldarico Guarin De La Peña served as pastor in three parishes and chaplain at Nuvance Health Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Reverend Father Uldarico Guarin De La Peña, age 68, entered eternal life suddenly on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was born on October 16, 1955 in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines to Urbano De La Peña and Visitacion Guarin.

Father Uldarico was a graduate of University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Philosophy. He received his theology degree at Jaro Seminary in Iloilo, Philippines, and was ordained on May 8, 1982. He was assigned as a priest in Sum-ag, Cadiz, Murcia and San Sanvador Benedicto in Negros Occidental, Philippines. He was incardinated into the Archdiocese of New York on December 27, 2001, and was assigned as a parochial vicar to St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill, the Church of St. Joseph in Kingston, and the Church of St. Mary-St. Joseph and Our Lady of Carmel in Poughkeepsie. He later became a chaplain at Nuvance Health Vassar Brothers Medical Center

Father Uldarico was a beloved son of Urbano and Visitacion De La Peña; a loving brother of Maria Luz, Ortolito and wife, Eugelia, Orlanda Wyatt, Orlando and wife, Carmen, Ordanico, Ofemia and husband, Claraval Ezpelita and the late Ordonio and his living wife, Zaida; and all adored nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

An additional funeral service will take place in Silay City, Negros Occidental, Philippines under the professional care of Rolling Hills Memorial Chapels. Interment will be at San Diego Parish Cemetery at a later date.
