A Word from Cardinal Dolan: Atonement

Are you familiar with this Catholic expression, “Mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa”? It’s Latin for “Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault.”
It’s an act of sorrow to the Lord admitting we are sinners.
In his video today, Cardinal Dolan reflects on the importance of atonement as well Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of atonement.
Earlier Tuesday, the Holy Father wrote to the bishops of the United States affirming their work on behalf of migrants and refugees and offered his support, moral encouragement, and prayers.

The school’s student choir started the day off for the residents with a beautiful performance, then handed out handmade Valentine’s cards from the student council to share in the Valentine’s joy.
