A Word from Cardinal Dolan: Feast of St. Katharine Drexel

| 03/3/2025

By: Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan

In his video today, Cardinal Dolan introduces us to the Black and Indian Mission Office, of which he is the President of the Board.

The mission of the office aligns with the work of the saint we celebrate today, St. Katharine Drexel, who founded the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament to serve African Americans and Native Americans.

On World Mission Sunday, the Catholic leader of Mongolia will give the homily at the 10:15 Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

Every Gospel has a different emphasis. St. Luke focuses on the hope that Jesus brings to those who need a savior - which is all of us.
