By: Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan
In his video today, Cardinal Dolan explains today’s feast of the Ascension.
After Easter, Jesus spent forty days on earth with the disciples before returning to Heaven on what we call the Ascension. The Archdiocese of New York celebrates the Ascension forty days after Easter, while many other dioceses move the feast to the following Sunday.

Jesus did not leave Heaven when He came down to us, and He did not leave us when He returned to Heaven at the Ascension. His presence remains with us as much as ever.
