Almsgiving During Lent: Giving of Our Time, Talent, and Treasure

During the season of Lent, Christians are called to pray, fast and give alms. Giving almsmeans making the needs of others our own, especially the poor and needy.
Ed O’Brien has been involved in helping the Archdiocese of New York do just that as a donor and the founding chair of the Leadership Committee for the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal.
We sat down with him on Ash Wednesday and asked what inspired him to get involved.
The Sisters of Life, the Knights of Columbus, and the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, united to present the two-day event, which drew almost 8,000.
