Archbishop Hicks Calls Growth of Catholicism in the U.S. ‘Inspiring’: ‘There’s a Lot of Encouragement Right Now’
By: Archbishop Ronald Hicks
On the April 28 episode of “All Good Things with Archbishop Hicks,” Archbishop Hicks and Monsignor James Vlaun discuss the growth of Catholicism in the United States, the recent Mass for high school seniors, and how to encourage young people to consider vocations.
While speaking to Msgr. James Vlaun on the April 28 episode of his Sirius XM series “All Good Things with Archbishop Hicks,” Archbishop Ronald Hicks reflected on the packed Easter Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and how it’s an “inspiring” time in the Church right now as young people continue to become more interested in the faith.
The archbishop also spoke about the second Mass for high school seniors, which took place at the cathedral on April 27, and how engaged the students were throughout the Mass.
Archbishop Hicks and Msgr. Vlaun then discussed the upcoming ordination of priests on May 23, and how they first felt called to the priesthood during their time as altar servers as kids. They noted that the recent Ordination Class of 2026 Survey results showed that many of the ordinands first considered joining the priesthood after someone asked them about it, and the importance of continuing to have that dialogue with the young faithful today.
This conversation is part of this week’s episode of “All Good Things with Archbishop Hicks” on SiriusXM’s The Catholic Channel (129) and Catholic Faith Network.
