Pope Francis celebrated Mass for the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul in St. Peter’s Basilica and blessed the palliums to be given to new metropolitan archbishops, including Archbishop George L. Thomas of Las Vegas, appointed in the last year.

Archbishop Thomas was elevated to the rank of archbishop last month when Pope Francis announced that Las Vegas would now be a metropolitan archdiocese. A sign of the growing Church in that part of the United States.
