Dear Parishioners,
Easter Blessings! Archbishop Hicks announced this morning that he has appointed me the new Vicar for Clergy for the Archdiocese of New York effective today, April 7. Also effective today, Father Wellington is your new Pastor. I know that Father Wellington will be a great Pastor, he is very competent and he loves St. Mary’s, you are in good hands. My new position as Vicar for Clergy encompasses the pastoral care of all of the Priests and Deacons of the Archdiocese; their spiritual care, their assignments and general well being. My offices will be at our Seminary in Yonkers and in Manhattan. My residence has not yet been decided, but I hope to assist Father Wellington here on the weekends that I am free. Please pray for me that I may be a good shepherd to my brother Priests and Deacons after the Heart of Our Risen Lord Jesus. Know that it has been my honor and privilege to be your Pastor these past four years. You will all have a daily remembrance in my grateful prayers.
