Each year the Archdiocese of New York celebrates the men and women religious marking important milestones in religious life.
Cardinal Dolan celebrates an annual Mass with the Jubilarians in St. Patrick’s Cathedral. This year the Mass took place on June 18 and honored the 18 men and women religious and their decades of service to the Church.
We sat down with Brother Edward “Ed” Shields, F.S.C, a native New Yorker who is celebrating his Golden Jubilee this year marking 50 years in religious life as a member of the Brothers of the Christian Schools, also known as the Christian Brothers.
Brother Ed is the Vocations Director for the order’s District of Eastern North America (DENA) and has been an educator for over 40 years.
