Cardinal Dolan and Jim Gaffigan Discuss The Al Smith Dinner

Ahead of the Thursday’s Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner featuring Former President Donald Trump; the Host – Cardinal Dolan, and the Master of Ceremonies – Jim Gaffigan, had a working lunch at the Cardinal’s residence to prepare and go over a few jokes.
They spoke about the history of the Al Smith Dinner, the great good the funds do to help those in need, and the fact that this is Former President Trump’s third time attending the event.
They also discussed Vice President Kamala Harris’ decision to skip this storied dinner that has been a staple in national and New York politics for almost a century.
Sister Ursula Marie McGovern entered eternal life on December 24, 2024. Sister Ursula taught at St. Nicholas of Tolentine High School in the Bronx, and later became the principal of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart School in Tappan.
