Cardinal Timothy Dolan has arrived safely in Rome for Pope Francis’ funeral. He will be joined by Monsignor Joseph P. LaMorte, Vicar General, Monsignor Kevin Sullivan, Executive Director of Catholic Charities of New York, and other archdiocesan leaders such as Father Ryan Muldoon, Director of the Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialogue for the Archdiocese of New York.

The Good Newsroom, the digital newsroom of the archdiocese, will also be represented by Mary Shovlain, Lead Content Producer. Shovlain is a seasoned multimedia journalist, and this will be the third conclave she will cover for a Catholic media outlet.

The newsroom publishes over 2,000 stories per year, and several stories have already been published related to the death of Pope Francis. Shovlain’s presence in Rome will allow the newsroom to present on-the-ground reporting about Pope Francis’ funeral and the upcoming papal conclave, where the Archbishop of New York, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, and other members of the College of Cardinals will select the next pope.

Shovlain will be supported by The Good Newsroom, a publishing and reporting team based in New York. The group will publish stories in English and Spanish as events unfold.
