Cardinal Dolan’s Homily: January 25, 2023

Today Cardinal Dolan talks about The Godfather and the feast of the conversion of Saint Paul. What could they have in common, you ask? A thunderbolt.

Do you remember the scene in the movie when Michael Corleone was in exile in Italy and sees his future wife?

His bodyguard says he was hit by a thunderbolt in that moment. The same thing happened to Saul. He was hit by that thunderbolt of love, turned his life upside down for Jesus, and became Paul, the Apostle.

Twice, the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the state to reconsider the case in light of precedents that made it increasingly difficult for the state to maintain its argument.
