Persecution and discrimination against Christians around the world are getting worse -- that's the stark warning from Aid to the Church in Need that works with thousands of vulnerable Christian communities in 140 countries.

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York joined Cardinal Dolan at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday to commemorate the World Day of the Poor with a special Mass and food blessing.

Launched in 2016, the index is a comprehensive poverty measure inspired by Pope Francis.

The event was intended to provide an update on the situation in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, as the war between Israel, Hamas, and Hezbollah continues and the need for humanitarian response rises.
