The annual Posada for Immigration Reform took place in the Bronx on December 16th to raise awareness about the challenges facing those who fled their nations in search of a better life. “La Posada”, the Spanish word for “inn” is a Catholic tradition celebrated across Latin America and by Hispanics in the U.S. on the nine days before Christmas.

People walk in prayer each day, with Mary and Joseph as they seek shelter in Bethlehem.

For this Posada, they have come to walk and pray in solidarity with immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers who –like the holy family -are seeking shelter. Mary Shovlain has this report.
