Pope Leo XIV will confer the sacred pallium upon new metropolitan archbishops, including Archbishop Ronald Hicks, during the Mass on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul
Archbishop of New York Ronald Hicks will receive the pallium from Pope Leo XIV during the Holy Mass and Blessing of the Sacred Pallium for the new Metropolitan Archbishops on the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul on Monday, June 29, at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. The Good Newsroom will livestream the event.
The pallium is a woolen vestment worn by metropolitan archbishops as a symbol of their pastoral authority and their communion with the Holy Father. Each year, newly appointed metropolitan archbishops from around the world gather at the Vatican to receive the pallium from the pope. Three other American archbishops will receive their pallia during the Mass.
The livestream can be viewed here at 3:30 a.m. EDT (9:30 a.m. in Rome) on Monday. Look for the “We Are Live” box in the top right corner of The Good Newsroom‘s homepage.
