La historia de San Valentín incluye muchas leyendas, y existen diferentes versiones sobre el origen concreto de este santo. Incluso se cree que hubo más de un Valentín. Aunque este día se celebra alrededor del mundo como el Día de los Enamorados, en 1969 se eliminó de calendario católico y se destinó ese día a la festividad de los santos Cirilo y Metodio.
