HARTSDALE — Maria Regina High School students recently answered the call to help address the severe food insecurity crisis by raising more than $700. All money collected was donated to Hillside Food Outreach, a regional nonprofit that delivers nutritious food to those in need who are unable to access a traditional food pantry.

The initiative by the all-girls Catholic high school was successfully led by the Campus Ministry and outreach officers, collecting $1 or more from each student. The generosity of the students is in keeping with the school’s tradition of shaping young women to become compassionate leaders and to live a life of charity, truth, and service.

In the weeks ahead, Maria Regina‘s extended family of students, alumnae, members of the administration, faculty, and staff will again commit to helping others during the holidays. The highlight will be the Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass on December 8 and Day of Service involving a school-wide Christmas drive to support critically important local causes.
