
Meet the New Transitional Deacons for the Archdiocese of New York

Three men were ordained transitional deacons for the Archdiocese of New York on June 3 at St. Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, NY during Mass celebrated by Bishop Edmund J. Whalen, Auxiliary Bishop of New York.In the Catholic Church, deacons preparing for the priesthood are known as transitional deacons.
Men who are not planning to be ordained priests are called permanent deacons. The Good Newsroom sat down with the new transitional deacons the day before ordination to hear about their journey towards the priesthood and the call to serve God and His Church.
