You can watch Msgr. LaMorte’s homily from this morning’s Mass at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral here.
This Gospel story is a very familiar one to all of us – the feeding of the multitudes. He remarks he always found it interesting that the Disciples wanted to dismiss the crowds and send them away because of, what they thought was, their inability to meet their needs.
He also discusses how it connects to Saint John Vianney, whose feast we celebrate today.
Monsignor Luke Sweeney, S.T.L., is the dean of seminarians and professor of Catholic social teaching at St. Joseph's Seminary. We spoke with him about the next generation of priests, the upcoming comprehensive exams at the seminary, and how we can respect God's creation.
