Deacon David J. Nash entered eternal life on April 6, 2025. David was ordained as a Deacon in New York Archdiocese in 2010, faithfully serving St. Martin De Porres parish. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as treasurer of the Hudson Valley Chapter and District Deputy, and dedicated his time to comforting hospice patients.

David J. Nash, esteemed community leader, educator, and devoted family man, entered eternal life peacefully on Sunday morning, April 6, 2025, at his home in Poughkeepsie. He was 79 years old.

Born on July 20, 1945, David was the beloved husband of the late Louise Nash and the cherished father of David Nash and Deirdre Hyacinthe. He was a proud grandfather to David Nash III, James Nash, Avery Hyacinthe, Vinson Hyacinthe, and Arden Hyacinthe.

David’s educational journey included a Bachelor of Science from Siena College, a Master of Arts from the College of Saint Rose, and a Master of Science from Columbia University. He also earned a Professional Certification in Guidance and Counseling from the University at Albany.

His professional career was marked by leadership and service as the president and CEO of Kopstein, Van Alen, Nash, and Co., a full-service investment firm. He was a licensed stockbroker with Series 7, 63, and 65 certifications and served as an adjunct professor and academic advisor at Marist College in Poughkeepsie and Vassar College in Poughkeepsie.

David was ordained as a deacon in the New York Archdiocese in 2010, faithfully serving St. Martin de Porres Parish. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, serving as treasurer of the Hudson Valley Chapter and district deputy, and dedicated his time to comforting hospice patients.

Together with Louise, he also ran a welcoming and warm bed and breakfast in Cooperstown, where guests returned year after year for his hospitality.

David lived fully, enjoying skiing, golfing, and staying active at Gold’s Gym. He will be remembered as a man of deep faith, wisdom, generosity, and love.
