Father Gomez served as parochial vicar of the Church of St. Helena in the Bronx from 1990 to 2004, during which time he was incardinated into the archdiocese on December 28, 1994

Reverend Father Edmundo Gomez, 85, retired parochial vicar of the Church of St. Helena in the Bronx, entered eternal life on February 9, 2025.

Born in Colombia on October 26, 1939, Father Edmundo Gomez was ordained in his native country on June 8, 1969. He began his service in the Bronx as parochial vicar at Saints Peter and Paul from 1981 to 1990. He then moved to the Church of St. Helena, serving as parochial vicar from 1990 to 2004, during which time he was incardinated into the archdiocese on December 28, 1994. Father Gomez then served as pastor of St. John Vianney, the Bronx, from 2004 to 2008, before returning to the Church of St. Helena in 2009 as parochial vicar.
