Reverend Andrew J. Walsh entered eternal life on June 2, 2024. Ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of New York on May 28, 1966, Father Walsh went on to have a distinguished career as a U.S Air Force Chaplain and was honorably discharged in 1994.

Reverend Andrew Joseph Walsh entered eternal life on June 2, 2024, at the age of 87. 

Father Walsh was born on September 4, 1936, in Hackensack, New Jersey, to Andrew and Maude (Maher) Walsh. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of New York on May 28, 1966. He received his bachelor’s degree in English from Iona College, and later went on to receive in master’s degree in Church History from Dunwoodie Seminary and College.

Father Walsh began his priesthood at St. Charles Borromeo in Dover Plains and Holy Name Mission in Manhattan. He served as a faculty member at Cardinal Spellman High School. 

Father Walsh later went on to have a distinguished career as a U.S Air Force Chaplain and was honorably discharged in 1994. After his discharge from the Air Force, he served as parochial vicar at St. James the Apostle in Carmel; St. Joachim, Beacon; St. Columba, Hopewell Junction; and St. Margaret of Cortona, Bronx. He retired from the Archdiocese of New York in 2011.
