Love was in the air at St. Patrick’s Cathedral on Sunday as couples from the Archdiocese of New York celebrated 50 years of marriage at the annual Golden Jubilee Wedding Mass celebrated by Cardinal Dolan.

There were more than 225 couples from 98 parishes present at the Mass. Not all of the couples marking 50 years of marriage were able to attend but the total number of Golden Jubilee couples in the archdiocese this year was over 300.

The cathedral was filled with the couples and their children, grandchildren and even some great-grandchildren to celebrate this milestone as a family.

In his homily, Cardinal Dolan pointed out that it was fitting that the Golden Jubilee Wedding Mass was taking place on the Feast of Corpus Christi. He likened the journey in marriage to the procession of the Eucharist on the great feast of the Blessed Sacrament.
