Governor Kathy Hochul will be deciding at some point over the next five weeks whether to sign or veto the assisted suicide bill
We wish you the favor and peace of God our Father and of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Governor Kathy Hochul will be deciding at some point over the next five weeks whether to sign or veto the assisted suicide bill. In what is anticipated to be our last public event urging a veto, our coalition, The New York Alliance Against Assisted Suicide, will be holding a series of candlelight vigils on Wednesday, December 3, and Thursday, December 4.
• The December 3 vigils will be in Albany, outside the Governor’s Mansion on Eagle Street, and in Tonawanda, 1570 Niagara Falls Blvd., both from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• The December 4 vigils will be in New York City at the Governor’s Manhattan office at 919 Third Ave., and in Syracuse, Hughes Office Building, 333 E. Washington St., also from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
This information has already been shared with diocesan respect life directors in New York, Albany, Syracuse, and Buffalo, and with Catholic Action Network members. Since a vigil is occurring in New York City, it would be most helpful for pastors to pass along the fliers to their parishioners to encourage turnout.
With sentiments of hope, may you enjoy the blessings of Thanksgiving.
