The Sheen Center has named MaryLou Pagano as its new executive director, after five years as its director of communications.
Prior to joining the Sheen, Pagano spent 35 years in fundraising focusing her efforts on advancing the mission of the Catholic Church through education, hospitals, and parish work.
While still serving as the Center’s advancement director, Pagano implemented innovations such as offering free online programming via the Sheen Center’s YouTube channel exposing brand new audiences worldwide to the venue’s content. Following the pandemic, Pagano was promoted to director of communications.
Now, as executive director, Pagano plans to continue amplifying the Sheen brand, build support for its mission, and expand programming including a new “virtual” membership.
“My role as executive director is to fulfill the vision of Cardinal Dolan: to have a place within the archdiocese to evangelize through the arts. Our goal is to show all aspects of art through a lens of faith. We hope to fulfill that in the spaces of the Sheen Center, including our studios, theaters, and art gallery, and beyond the walls of the Sheen Center by providing virtual offerings in the coming months,” Pagano told The Good Newsroom by email.
