Spreading The Good News

Evangelization.  The word can sound so intimidating that we as Catholics sometimes forget that it’s one of the jobs Jesus told us to do. In fact, “Go and make disciples of all nations” were the last words He spoke to his Apostles as he ascended to Heaven! But, while it may sound difficult, Evangelization can be as easy as sharing a story, recounting a kind deed, or reminding a friend that there is a light burning through dark times.

That’s why we have made a dramatic change this week to support our evangelization efforts in the Archdiocese of New York, by introducing an innovative newsroom, digital in nature, that allows for information about the good works of Jesus and His Church, and some of the challenges as well, to travel further and more quickly than before.  The digital newsroom team we have assembled will report on parish and school events, the work of our renowned Catholic Charities, healthcare, and other ministries, families, neighborhoods, and news happening in our archdiocese and beyond.

We’re calling this promising new initiative The Good NewsroomTM, and I hope you will join me in not only learning about it, but also sharing the good news with others because we are making it easier for you to provide updates to those you know about the positive aspects of our faith. I’m not adept at technology, but the experts tell me this is how to connect with people, bring them closer to the Church, and make it easy for them to stay in touch with us. You can learn about and share the news easily from our recently developed website at www.thegoodnewsroom.org or from our social media channels.

So, why not participate in telling our story, by sharing the information about the launch of our new news platform, and informing those you talk with about how easy we are making it to proclaim the mystery of our faith?

Get familiar with this novel publishing entity, visit the website and our social media channels, and share the good news online or offline. Use all the ways you can to connect with those around you and help us get our message out. It’s the message of God’s love, His mercy, and His care for us in our daily lives.

We welcome your feedback about the new initiative. You can email the newsroom team at thegoodnewsroom@archny.org
