On Saturday, January 28th, The Church of St. John-Visitation in the Bronx, NY, held a bilingual Memorial Mass to celebrate the life and legacy of the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI.

Prior to the Mass, the Church held its monthly Family Day, a day each month in which parents and children come together to learn about and rejoice in the traditions of the Church.

This month’s Family Day featured a presentation on Pope Benedict XVI, remembering him as a great teacher and writer of the Catholic Church.

"Quería que todos nosotros, tanto dentro como fuera, pudiéramos abrir de par en par las puertas de nuestros corazones y comprender que la esperanza no defrauda", el Papa dijo.

"I wanted all of us, inside or out, to have an opportunity to throw open the doors of our hearts and understand that hope does not disappoint," the pope said.
