On October 1, the Feast of St. Therese of Lisieux, the Catholic Community of Larchmont (Saint Augustine and Saints John and Paul) hosted a “Women of Faith, Hope, and Love Luncheon” at the Larchmont Yacht Club. The luncheon was attended by about 130 women.

At the luncheon, the Catholic cCommunity of Larchmont honored Sister Maria Teresa, CFR and the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal from Our Lady Queen of Angels Convent in Harlem. For many years, women from Larchmont have helped support the ministry of the CFR Sisters. Along the way, the CFR Sisters have helped so many women from the Catholic Community of Larchmont grow in faith.

Speaking at the event, Sister Maria Teresa, CFR encouraged the women present to grow in a deeper understanding of the love of God the Father for each and every one of them.

After lunch, Jennifer Hubbard gave the keynote address. Hubbard is the author of “Finding Sanctuary: How the Wild Work of Peace Restored the Heart of a Sandy Hook Mother” and executive director of the Catherine Violet Hubbard Animal Sanctuary. Hubbard also writes for Magnificat.

In her keynote address, Hubbard spoke powerfully about living faithfully throughout all seasons of life—both times of joy and times of suffering. In an address that was both profound and humorous, she told the story of how God had prepared her in many ways for the greatest trial of her life and how her Catholic faith has carried her courageously into the future.

The most important thing the Pope reminds us about is the basis of our faith, the Eucharist. The Eucharist isn’t a symbol.
