Deacon Joseph Haas, a member of the 2026 Ordinandi Class at St. Joseph’s Seminary, will be ordained on May 23 at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. In this interview, he discusses his vocational journey, highlighting the pivotal role Cardinal Timothy Dolan played in recognizing his gifts and encouraging him to serve God. Haas shares how he first discerned God’s call in his life and the steps that led him to embrace it fully. He also offers a heartfelt message to the faithful.
Father Haas’ first Mass will be at 2:30 p.m. on May 24 at St. Mary’s Church in Washingtonville, with Cardinal Dolan serving as the homilist.
In his homily, Fr. John Anthony Boughton, CFR, told the four men they were not graduating, but matriculating, into a life of joyful sacrifice.
