On Saturday, July 26, at the Church of Saint Mary in Wappingers Falls, young people from grades 7-12 gathered for a retreat day called “Sons and Daughters: Seeing Ourselves Through the Eyes of the Father.” The day began with Eucharistic Adoration, praise and worship, and confession.
The participants then enjoyed breakout sessions designed to help them understand their identity as beloved children of God. The workshops included discussions, a service project, and Visio Divina prayer with sacred art. The children then gathered for Mass celebrated by Bishop Gerardo Colacicco, after which the Knights of Columbus provided a barbecue.
The kids enjoyed fellowship and outdoor games to conclude the day.
"Bipartisan collaboration is not only possible, it’s absolutely necessary," Bishop Seitz said.
