Yesterday, a tragedy struck our neighborhood, just two blocks away from Saint Patrick’s Cathedral. We are heartbroken by the loss of life. The victims, those who were injured, and their families are in our prayers. We should never get used to violence or lose our respect for the sacredness of every human life. When this violence happens on our streets, it is especially heinous. Our love and concern go especially to the families of those killed and to our beloved NYPD community.

Father Enrique Salvo, Rector of St. Patrick's Cathedral, invites everyone to an interfaith prayer service in memory of the victims of the July 28 shooting in New York. The service will be held on August 4 at St. Bartholomew's Church.
