August 15 is the Feast of the Assumption.

This feast celebrates Mary being taken body and soul into heaven, a sign of hope for all believers and a reminder of her unique role in salvation history.

It is a holy day of obligation in the Archdiocese of New York.

The event, featuring a race for adults and another for children 10 and younger, will be held at Mount Saint Mary College.
