Mayor Eric Adams hosted faith leaders from throughout New York City for an Interfaith Breakfast on Wednesday at the New York Public Library.

Leaders from numerous faiths delivered remarks and offered prayers.

During his speech, Mayor Adams announced the launch of the Citywide Clergy Collective, a group of 272 faith leaders committed to preventing gun violence in New York City.

Using a $1.5 million grant from the New York State Department of Criminal Justice, members of the new Collective will deliver resources, services, and community-building programs in all five boroughs to help respond to the needs and traumas that gun violence creates.

Overall, the Breakfast was a good example of how faith leaders and government officials can collaborate for the greater good.
